| I've been so extremely busy with the wedding planning. I'm trying to iron things out and getting as much done as I can. I told my sister that I got her back and because she's in SoCal, I would handle things up here. I know that we're going to pull off an amazing wedding, but the anxiety and anticipation is way up there. It's exciting and scary and a little bit of everything else. Now back to work. | | |

| Long time, no blog. Since moving back home, things have been pretty good. Went to Thailand for a couple of weeks, and it was awesome. Don't feel like talking about it much. It was the best trip I've had. Hands down. Hope to travel more. I wrote in my journal for just half the trip and I regret that a little bit, but it's ok. I remember the important stuff.
So, what have I been doing since I've been home? I was hoping to hang out with friends more. I have, but not as much as I would like to only because I've been busy helping my parents with their remodel and stuff. The kitchen is basically done except the hood needs to be replaced and we need a back splash. I'm working on getting glass tiles. The bathroom still needs work. My closet and room are a mess still. This week, I'm working on my shit.
Here are a couple of pictures of the kitchen and dining during all of the construction:
The kitchen. Pre-granite.
The dining area.
I didn't choose the colors of the walls. My mom did. They actually said that they'd wait for us to get back from our trip so that we could choose the wall colors, but they didn't. My sisters and I chose the cabinets, granite and floor tiles. For the laundry room, I choose the colors and actually painted it myself with a little bit of help from Christine on the last day. It took me about three half days and like four rolls of painters tape. I think it's the shit. I love going through that room everyday. My inspiration was a cantaloupe.
Here's what you see when you enter. That's the door to the bathroom downstairs.
Here's the back wall.
Just for kicks, a picture of a corner of my room.
Jerry and McLovin laying in bed.
So, that's what I've been up to. It's really exciting for me to get to actually purchase things and be able to make design decisions and stuff. I can't trust my parents to do all of that! My dad realized just how picky I was through all of this. I made complaints about almost everything. If things weren't the way that I liked, I let him know. The guy who cut the granite didn't cut a straight line next to the stove and didn't caulk parts of the cocktail sink very well my dad was a little amused that I took so much notice. But seriously, my dad paid the guy a lot of money to cut it and he should have done better. Are my expectations too high? I think not. My dad said it was good enough. His good enough is not good enough in my book. I should have inspected his work before he left. I didn't even know when he left. The bastard probably knew hot picky I was and snuck out.
More pictures to come once it's all been done. Next projects: my bathroom cabinets and mom's effing garden/jungle. | | |
